Ethereal Gardenscape Meets Metropolitan Sophistication

When Ashlee and Mike first set out to plan their wedding, selecting a unique location was at the top of their list. They wanted a space that would allow their big and untraditional dreams to be realized. Imagine an ethereal forest that nods to the edgy metropolitan tastes of Boston and New Jersey natives - a luxe speakeasy, a vintage ice cream parlor, topped with a Jameson & Coke display.

Ashlee and Mike’s wedding ceremony began outside featuring lush earth-toned florals and distinctive branches that framed The Greenery’s front entrance. Fleur Event used a combination of both dried and natural flowers to add vivid dimension. As Ashlee said best, “Whether it is the dead of winter or middle of the summer The Greenery has appeal, she flirts with you and begs you to come inside.” With that perspective, it’s no surprise Ashlee and Mike tied the knot in the early spring, a time when the building's standalone mystique could be juxtaposed against their unparalleled design. Guests were welcomed to the festivities with an Irish coffee, which set the tone for an unexpected level of sophistication that would become a trademark of the entire night.

Following the ceremony, Ashlee and Mike slid back the entrance doors and were the first to enter the reception space…voila!

The couple worked hand-in-hand with House of Catherine throughout the entirety of their wedding planning process. Ashlee acknowledged she had some pretty lofty ideas from the onset and working with a remarkable designer and vendor team (all females) enabled her vision to evolve and come to life. At the heart of the design conceptualization was the space, a place that could be transformed to dazzle guests while simultaneously feel authentic to the bride and groom themselves.

Ashlee recalls having a quiet moment to view the reception prior to guests arrival and upon seeing it’s grandeur thinking, “[our wedding] had to be here, it was meant to be here, this wouldn’t have worked anywhere else.” Long tables adorned in hues of deep green and cream anchored the space all the while floral installations floated overhead and the distinctive floor to ceiling windows allowed the outdoors to peek in. Standalone moments marked the reception space, including custom lounge areas, which proved to be a highlight for the newlyweds and guests alike. The living room layouts were modeled after Ashlee and Mike’s favorite childhood locations, which nodded to their past amidst a wildly joyous gathering celebrating their future!

Modern, edgy, and romantic are a few words that encapsulate Ashlee + Mike’s day and are simultaneously best represented in their stunning portraits captured in front of the apple orchard. When asked what advice do you have for future The Greenery clients Ashlee and Mike left us with this, “You’ve picked the right place and the right person in Danielle, you really are in the best hands. The world is your oyster at The Greenery, make it yours, make it your own and think outside the box because it has the capability to do just about anything you can dream up.”
