When Autumn colors meet infectious smiles

When Allie and Sam set out to define their own wedding celebration, targeting a date in October to capture the best of Fall in New England was their guiding north star. Allie loves color and style so for her, identifying a venue that was a blank canvas proved a top priority and Sam wanted to get married in a place holding dear memories with family close by. Cue, The Greenery! Allie and Sam’s first visit to the property included walking the grounds and looking at the building's blueprints; however, Danielle’s vision for the venue and the wealth of knowledge being poured into the structure on McKenzie’s Farm attracted them from the onset- the duo was sold.

The Greenery is located just 30 minutes from where Allie and Sam’s story first began. In high school these two developed a fast friendship over a shared summer job housekeeping in Rye, NH. As if it was fate, the two found themselves attending college in Colorado - Denver and Boulder, respectively. It was during those years when their friendship turned to dating and they felt their relationship was one to last. Allie shares, “we knew we loved one another pretty early on.”

Best friends turned newlyweds, the couple infectious smiles extend ear to ear as they exit the ceremony.

Their wedding design was inspired by rich jewel tones and subtle fall colors. It was important to Allie that both color palettes were represented throughout the event and she credits a teal velvet fabric sample found early in the planning process as a foundational element that guided their design.. The color became a trademark of the celebration - the deep teal first emerged in the invitation suite and followed through to the reception linens. Beautiful dried florals, pampas grass, moody dahlias, and soft garen roses complimented The Greenery while nodding to the change in foliage during the fall season.

Allie and Sam met within the apple orchard for their first look and the excitement of seeing one another privately for the first time was captured by Lindsay Vann Photography. The deep red apples were ripe for picking, too! The wedding ceremony took place in the apple orchard under a clear frame tent and was led by their dear friend. Aside from the language during the ring exchange, the ceremony verbiage was unknown to Allie and Sam. “Allow yourself to be surprised!” Allie says. The officiant's transcript fused sentimentality with comedy, which had folks laughing and the moment was all the richer for the bride and groom hearing the verbiage for the first time in that moment, too.

Deep in the apple orchard may just be the happiest place to be.

The overall highlight for this couple was gathering the people they loved most after many challenging months amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. Allie and Sam were given a clear fall day and becoming husband and wife in the beautiful outdoor sanctuary was more than they imagined. Following cocktail hour on the grounds and the introduction to the designed reception, it became evident guests were ready to let loose on the dance floor where much fun was had. Some folks were found tearing it up on center stage underneath the floral installations while others took in the music amidst quality conversation in custom lounge furniture sitting outdoors.

Allie and Sam’s parting words for others are, “There are no venues in New Hampshire like the Greenery! The fact that it’s this magical oasis on a farm in a rural part of the state was very attractive to both of us. We loved that The Greenery is tucked back from the road and at night you can see a sky full of stars!”

At the end of the evening, The Greenery was perfectly aglow.
